Wedding Story: Doria & Alie

Doria & Alie's radiant wedding took place at Froyle Park in May. It was a stunning multi-cultural wedding. The bride; Doria is from Algeria while the groom; Alie is from Sierra Leone. It was a three-in-one wedding as they had their Nikkah (Islamic ceremony), Blessing Ceremony and Reception on the same day.

The couple chose Froyle Park in Alton because of the exclusivity of the venue, with an outdoor option and few indoor halls as well. The blessing ceremony was outside under the cherry blossom tree, in front of the Dome. They wanted a small private wedding. They had a hundred and ten guests. The colour for their day was cherry blossom.

Our favourite part of this wedding was the room reveal. The couple were surprised, even though the decoration was their idea. Seeing it brought to life was a thrilling moment for them. Although the bride wanted dhol drums; the venue doesn't allow them.

The reception was also a wonderful one as we saw both families display their cultures. The couple was particular about the decoration and food. They had a private chef cater their wedding. They wanted their guests to have fun despite the cultural gap. The bride and groom had a special henna painting at the reception; an Algerian tradition. They also had a bilingual MC who spoke English and translated to French fluently.
